Field Museum
The Field Museum
Commercial HVAC, Equipment Setting & Steel Fabrication
The Field Museum needed to replace an existing AHU in their Southwest Quadrant with a new 75,000 CFM unit and all associated ductwork, electrical, plumbing, controls, finishes, and exhibit protection, as the existing AHU didn’t have enough CFM to feed it.
DePue had to break down the new HVAC system into 52 individual sections in order to get it into the building from the ground level, up the elevator to the 3rd floor, and finally through a 36” man door in order for all 52 pieces to be assembled into one operational Air Handler Unit.
DePue managed to complete the breakdown and installment of the new unit safely, and was able to get it done without disrupting anyone or any processes. Better airflow was achieved throughout the Southwest Quadrant of the museum, all fine-tuned to not damage any of the artifacts in the museum.
DePue also offers steel fabrication in various shapes and sizes. We will design, fabricate, and install the steel for any of your structural needs including steel stairways, structural steel fabrication, window guards, and custom steel fabrications.
